Went to my first Reading Phils game last night. Nice ball park. I'm 6'4 so I don't fit in the seats very well. I took 3 kids so I couldn't keep good notes. I did nictoe a few good things, though. Riz had 2 good AB's. In the 1st, he took a pitch on the outer half of the plate to LF for an RBI single. He later fought off an inside pitch to hit one into shallow RC. SP BJ Rosenberg threw hard. Most of his fastballs showed 94 on the stadium gun. He hit 95 a couple of times. He had several opposing batters off balance with (what looked to be) sliders. He missed off the 3rd base side of the plate an awful lot, though. Walked 2 in a row to start the 3rd and they both scored on a HR. That's never good. Not sure if the gun in Reading is accurate or not. There were several pitches where the gun didn't register anything. The opposing SP was throwing 88 which would lead me to believe the gun wasn't too far off. Singleton played SS and had 3 hits on the night and in his other AB he smoked a line drive right at the 2Bman. Played a pretty good SS, too. He showed good range to his left on a ball up the middle and turned a couple of nice DPs with Figueroa. On the Curve, their SS is very impressive; quick soft hands and a good arm. Their RF Lambo absolutely crushed a HR off Kissock. It looked to me like it went over the 2nd set of billboards in RC field. Their CF, Marte is also a heck of a player, fast, energetic & a good hitter. In the 1st with 2 out and runners on, Figeuroa hit a hard ball to the track in dead CF. Marte looked like he paused for a split second and used his speed to go back nicely to catch the ball near the wall to end the inning and kill a rally.
